Highlights

  • Experience a night safari aboard an open 4x4 to observe nocturnal African animals in their natural habitat.
  • Spot large predators such as lions, leopards, and hyenas hunting after dark.
  • Enjoy a 3-course BBQ dinner with wine and cold beer around an open campfire, accompanied by the sounds of the bush.

Description

Your night safari begins with hotel pickup at approximately 4:00 PM. You will travel about 7 miles from Victoria Falls town to the Nakavango Private Game Reserve on a late afternoon game drive until sunset.

Travel in an open, well-equipped 4x4 vehicle through diverse landscapes including basalt plains, Kalahari sands, and teak forests. An experienced guide shares insights about the local wildlife and environment throughout the journey.

At sunset, stop at a vantage point to enjoy drinks and snacks while stretching your legs and exchanging stories with fellow travelers. Once dusk falls, use spotlights to observe nocturnal wildlife such as lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, leopards, jackals, hyenas, civets, servals, genets, and honey badgers.

The safari focuses on predator-prey interactions active at night. If fortunate, you may witness a lion stalking its prey under the cover of darkness.

After about 1.5 hours of night game viewing, return to a traditional open-air enclosure for a 3-course BBQ dinner under the stars. Enjoy wine, cold beer, and refreshments while listening to wildlife calls and watching animals come to drink at a nearby waterhole.

The experience concludes with transport back to your hotel by around 10:00 PM.
