Description

The tour begins about one kilometer upstream from Victoria Falls with a stop to observe the Zambezi River’s calm but powerful flow before it drops. Your guide explains the river’s journey and the formation of the surrounding basalt gorges, providing geological and historical context.

Next, enter Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park on the Zambian side and walk rainforest paths nourished by constant spray. Discover scenic viewpoints that reveal different perspectives of the falls and gorge carved over thousands of years. Learn about the falls’ formation, local ecology, and the cultural importance of the site called “The Smoke That Thunders.”

The tour continues with a walk to the historic Victoria Falls Bridge. Stand at Gorge Number Seven for photo opportunities of the canyon carved by the Zambezi. Cross the bridge on foot into Zimbabwe and pause at No Man’s Land, the midpoint between the two countries, for photos with “Welcome to Zambia” and “Welcome to Zimbabwe” signs.

After border formalities, explore Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side, enjoying sweeping views of the main waterfall curtain. The tour concludes with a return across the border and transport back to your hotel in Livingstone or Victoria Falls.
