Victoria Falls: Guided Walking Tour
Chinotimba Township, Zambia
Nothing is quite like the heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of Victoria Falls, under the guidance of a professional whose knowledge about the falls is very vast and extensive.
Victoria Falls Rainforest Tour in Zimbabwe
This 2-hour guided tour of Victoria Falls rainforest suits visitors seeking close views of the Main Falls, Devil’s Cataract, and surrounding natural features.
Description
Visit Devil’s Cataract and Livingstone’s Statue, commemorating Dr. David Livingstone, the first European to see Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855. The Chain Walk descends into the gorge, offering excellent views of Devil’s Cataract and Cataract Island.
Explore the true rainforest environment filled with diverse bird species, flora, and fauna. The trail leads to intermittent views of Livingstone Island and Rainbow Falls. From a grassy ledge above Livingstone Island precipice, Livingstone first saw the falls.
At the next viewpoint, you can see Livingstone’s statue above the falls, a prime spot for morning views of Devil’s Cataract. Another viewpoint provides the best panorama of the Main Falls and the river at the bottom of the gorge. During river floods, expect mainly spray and mist at this location.
Discover Rainbow Falls, the highest point of Victoria Falls; Danger Point, which follows the cliff edge to views of Eastern Cataract on the Zambian side; and Boiling Pot, where turbulent waters churn below. The tour concludes at Bridge Viewpoint overlooking the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia.
