Description
Upon arrival, guests are dressed in a chitenge (sarong) and welcomed by traditional dancers. Face painting is offered—women receive cheek dots symbolizing African beauty, and men get warrior stripes. The main enclosure delivers a sensory introduction to African tastes, sounds, and sights.
Entertainment during dinner includes mbira music, traditional dancers, a local storyteller, a fortune teller, a hair braider, face painters, and souvenir vendors. The highlight is an interactive drumming session where guests learn rhythms on djembe drums. Following this, the floor opens for dancing, and the evening concludes with a cappella singers performing personalized melodies at each table.
The meal starts with a shared platter featuring peppered impala skewers, smoked crocodile tail, corn ciabatta, and 'nyimo' fritters. Guests then enjoy freshly made soup by the campfire, accompanied by croutons and homemade bread, and a salad bar of local organic produce including sweet potato, legumes, nuts, seeds, greens, dressings, and breads.
The main course includes a braai buffet with pork fillet, beef, boerewors, marinated chicken, game meatballs, and a daily spit roast served with peanut butter rice or sadza, alongside various sauces. Additional options feature traditional hunter’s stews, Zambezi bream, and kapenta fish. Vegetarian dishes include vegetable stir fry, daily pasta, garlic bread, and roast potatoes. Halal meals are available. Adventurous diners can try sautéed mopane worms and receive a certificate.
