Itinerary
Day 1: Livingstone to Lochinvar via Kalomo, Choma, and Monze
At 07:00, you will be picked up from your Livingstone lodge or hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. Travel north on the T-1 road to Kalomo (approx. 128 km). Arrive around 10:00 for a midmorning snack and visit the first colonial state house and Standard Chartered Bank site. Explore the Kalundu mound archaeological site.
Continue to Choma by 13:20, visit the Choma Museum and Craft Centre, and have lunch here. Arrive in Monze by 16:30 to spend the night at a local lodge.
Day 2: Lochinvar National Park
Wake up at 07:00, have breakfast, and depart at 07:30 for Lochinvar National Park. Enter through the main gate and begin guided birdwatching and wildlife viewing, including sightings of the rare Kafue Lechwe.
- Visit Gwisho Hot Springs
- Drive to Baobab Tree and Drums
- Explore Chunga Lagoon
Enjoy a walk safari with the guide during the day. Lunch will be provided. Return to Monze by 17:30, stopping at the Samu Lya Moomba national heritage site. Dinner will be served at your lodge, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Return to Livingstone
After breakfast at 07:30, depart from Monze at 08:30. Pass Family Safari Lodge for game viewing around 09:30. Stop for lunch in Choma at noon. Arrive back in Livingstone by 15:30 for drop-off at your lodge or hotel.
