River Horse Safaris
Zambia
Canoeing safaris have been operating for over 27 years along the Lower Zambezi River. They have attracted many adventure seekers wishing to undergo a unique canoeing experience combined with wildlife viewing at its best.
River Horse Safaris was established in 1994 and is run by its owner, Anthony Elton, who used his many previous years of experience when setting it up. It specializes mainly in canoeing safaris, but also offers options of more traditional land based activities within the local National Parks bounding this water course.
Canoeing offers a superb, quiet way of approaching wildlife. The trips are led by professional guides through the national parks that flank this remarkable river system. These are the Lower Zambezi National Park in Zambia and the Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe, the latter of which is a World Heritage Site.
A wide variety of canoe trips are run on either side of the Lower Zambezi, in Zambia or Zimbabwe, in order to meet clients' canoeing requirements, areas of preference, budgets and individual interests.
