Hydrospeed surfing is a seasonal activity running between July to January dependant on the water levels. The duration is approximately 3 hours so hydrospeeding can be combined with another of the shorter activities.
A degree of fitness is required to walk up the gorge and to surf.
The trip starts by walking down the Batoka Gorge to rapid #1 below the Victoria Falls where you jump into the water with the Anvil hydrospeed and swim to rapid #2. Your experienced guide will give you a short instruction on the basics of controlling the Anvil and surfing on the wave. It is easy to get onto the wave and easy to stay there to surf, no experience or special skills required.
