Itinerary Day 1: Lusaka – Lower Zambezi National Park Arrive at Lusaka Airport and take a bush flight to Lower Zambezi. From the airstrip, enjoy a short road transfer to the Zambezi River, then a scenic 20-minute motorboat ride—your first water-based safari with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way. Arrive at Chiawa Camp, a luxury lodge nestled along the river. Settle into your suite and enjoy wildlife viewing from a bush hide or take a refreshing dip in the plunge pool. Afternoon tea is followed by a thrilling game drive that continues into the night. End your day with a 4-course dinner under the stars. Days 2 & 3: Lower Zambezi National Park Wake up with coffee or tea around the campfire before heading out on your chosen morning activity—either a game drive or a guided bush walk. Track animal footprints, observe birds, and learn about the ecosystem. Return to camp for brunch and leisure time. In the afternoon, enjoy tea and choose from a game drive, canoe trip, boat safari, or fishing. Canoeing offers close encounters with hippos and crocs, while boat cruises pass river islands and water channels with chances to see fish eagles and elephants. Evenings feature sundowners on the water and night drives or relaxed dinners back at camp. Days 4 & 5: Chiawa Camp – Old Mondoro Lodge After a morning game activity, travel by boat through the heart of the Lower Zambezi to Old Mondoro Lodge. This intimate, seasonal camp offers immersive wildlife experiences in a more remote setting. Begin each day with coffee by the fire and a light breakfast before choosing a morning game drive, walk, or river safari. Wildlife here includes buffalo, elephant, lion, leopard, and hippo. Midday brings a buffet breakfast and time to unwind overlooking the river. In the afternoon, join more activities like canoeing, fishing, or photography. Night drives reveal nocturnal species such as owls and bush babies. Dine by the fire and stargaze in this wild and serene setting. Day 6: Lower Zambezi – Lusaka Enjoy an early morning coffee and a final game activity to soak in your last sights and sounds of the bush. Afterward, transfer to the airstrip and board your flight back to Lusaka.
